Product Management MBA resume: template, bullets and sample

Product resume: show what you shipped, why, and what changed

What recruiters scan for

  • What you owned: a feature, a metric or a product area, stated clearly as your decision or the team's.
  • Outcomes with metrics: adoption, retention, conversion, revenue, NPS or time saved, with a baseline.
  • Evidence of customer discovery: interviews, usage data, support tickets or tests that shaped a decision.
  • Prioritisation and trade-offs: what you chose not to build and why.
  • Working relationships with engineering and design, and technical fluency (APIs, data, basic architecture).

Product hiring weighs shipped work and judgment far above certificates. Confirm current names, costs and availability on each issuer's site before listing.

Mistakes to avoid

  1. Listing features 'worked on' without your role, the problem, the result or the metric.
  2. Describing the team's output as your own. State what you owned and what you influenced.
  3. Metrics without baselines, or lifts without the sample or period.
  4. No sign of customer contact. Add one line on interviews, tests or usage data.
  5. A skills list heavy on frameworks (RICE, OKRs) and light on decisions made with them.
  6. No technical fluency. Mention SQL, APIs or system understanding if you have it.
