FAQ

Common questions

Is CAT Compass free?

Yes. The test, your score, the percentile band, the topic-wise report, every solution and the four-week plan are all free. You enter your name, mobile number and email before the result is shown.

Is CAT Compass the real CAT pattern?

It follows the CAT marking: 3 marks for a right answer, 1 mark lost for a wrong one, nothing for a skipped one. It is shorter than the real CAT, and you can move between sections, which the real CAT does not allow.

How is the percentile band worked out?

From your net marks as a share of the maximum. It is a rough indicator, because real percentiles depend on the year’s paper and the test-takers, so use it to track progress rather than to predict your result.

Will I see the same questions again?

Each test is a random draw from a bank of original questions, and questions you have not seen are preferred, so a retake is usually a new paper.

Can I resume a test after closing the page?

Yes, while the clock is still running. Your answers and the timer are saved in your browser.

Where do the questions come from?

They are original practice questions written for CAT Compass, not copied from past papers. Numeric answers are checked by script before they are published.
