Common questions
How is MBA payback calculated?
Total cost is the fee, plus the salary you give up during a full-time programme, plus any loan interest. Break-even is that total divided by the extra pay a year: your pay after the MBA minus your pay now.
Which pay figure does the calculator start from?
The median package of the college’s latest batch, or 92% of its average where it publishes no median. IIM Ahmedabad, Bodh Gaya and Udaipur report packages on a different basis, so those are scaled down by 12%. You can type your own expected figure instead.
Why does it show a lower-pay case?
Placement figures are for the students who took part in placements. A pay 20% lower than the median shows how much longer break-even takes if your offer is below the typical one.
Does it include tax or raises?
No. It compares pay before tax and ignores raises you would have had anyway, so treat the result as a guide for comparing programmes, not a forecast.
