- Three Bhubaneswar programmes have verified data on our site: XIMB (Rs 25.8 lakh), IMI Bhubaneswar (Rs 14.98 lakh) and KIIT School of Management (Rs 12.9 lakh in our table, Rs 18.0 lakh with hostel and extras).
- Average packages: XIMB Rs 18.25 lakh (2025), IMI Bhubaneswar Rs 14.01 lakh (2024-26), KIIT Rs 9.5 lakh (2025-26 season).
- XIMB accepts XAT, CAT, GMAT or XGMT; IMI Bhubaneswar accepts CAT, XAT, CMAT or GMAT; KIIT runs its own test and also accepts CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT and ATMA.
- Fee totals differ across pages mainly because of what is included, such as hostel, mess, books and a laptop.
- Deadlines: XIMB 15 Dec 2026, IMI Bhubaneswar 19 Dec 2026, KIIT's own test application 4 Jan 2027.
The MBA colleges in Bhubaneswar that we hold verified fee and placement data for are XIM Bhubaneswar (XIMB), IMI Bhubaneswar and KIIT School of Management. XIMB is the high-fee, XAT-led option, while IMI and KIIT cost less and take a wider range of scores.
Some city lists carry stale tables, and the same college can appear with very different fees. We read fee and package from our verified data, put the batch year next to each number, and say what each fee includes. Everything was checked on 6 Nov 2026.
Which MBA colleges in Bhubaneswar should you compare?
These three are the Bhubaneswar programmes where we can match fee, package and exam details to the colleges' own pages. The NIRF 2025 Management list places XIM University, which houses XIMB, at 45, KIIT at 68 and IMI Bhubaneswar at 94. It also lists Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (Bhubaneswar) at 66, but we hold no verified data for it.
Treat the three as different products. XIMB is the premium programme, IMI is a mid-fee PGDM with seven career tracks, and KIIT is a residential MBA with its own entrance test.
XIMB: fee, average package and exam route
XIMB's two-year MBA in Business Management costs Rs 25.8 lakh in our table (2026-28 batch). That is a course fee of Rs 11.5 lakh a year plus a development fund, materials, IT, alumni and career-advisory charges. Hostel is extra, with a single non-AC room in the new campus from Rs 60,000 a year. The average package was Rs 18.25 lakh and the median Rs 17.82 lakh (2025). Read XIM's own placement report for the latest batch.
Our table lists XAT as XIMB's main exam, but the 2027-29 admissions page also accepts CAT, GMAT and XGMT. Shortlisting is followed by a group discussion, writing test and personal interview. You need at least 55% in your graduation. The application deadline is 15 Dec 2026, and the fee is Rs 1,900 for the first programme or test option. We publish no CAT cutoff estimate for XIMB because XAT is the lead route.
IMI Bhubaneswar: fee, package and exams
IMI Bhubaneswar's two-year PGDM, which the AIU treats as equivalent to an MBA, has an approved intake of 180. The admission portal quotes Rs 14.98 lakh for 2027, and IMI's 2027-29 fee structure shows a course fee of Rs 15.03 lakh. Hostel and mess are extra, with year-one hostel at Rs 1.5 lakh for an AC twin room for boys and mess at Rs 85,000. Totals quoted elsewhere range widely, so rely on IMI's own fee structure.
The average package was Rs 14.01 lakh (2024-26). Sales and marketing took 36% of placements, BFSI 28%, consulting 15% and IT 11%. Admission uses a valid CAT, XAT, GMAT or CMAT score, past academics, work experience, a video assessment and an interview, with no fixed cutoff published. You need 50% in graduation. Applications close in round two on 19 Dec 2026, interviews are in January 2027 and the programme begins in July 2027. Our cutoff estimate is about 70 percentile.
KIIT School of Management: fee, package and cutoff estimate
Our table lists KIIT's MBA at Rs 12.9 lakh (2026-28). KIIT's own structure is different in shape: a one-time Rs 1 lakh admission fee, then four instalments of about Rs 4.25 lakh, for Rs 18,00,620 in total. That figure includes AC hostel, mess, laundry, books and a laptop, so compare it, and not Rs 12.9 lakh, when you weigh KIIT against a college whose fee excludes hostel.
The average package for the 2025-26 placement season was Rs 9.5 lakh, with a highest of Rs 35 lakh and 100 recruiters. Our cutoff estimate is about 80 percentile. KIIT asks for 50% in graduation and in both Class 10 and Class 12.
KIIT offers a 50% tuition waiver to the top 5 in its own test, to candidates at 80 percentile and above in CAT or XAT, and to those at 95 percentile and above in MAT. Check the current terms before you count on it.
Fee versus package side by side
| Programme | Total fee (lakh, batch) | Average (lakh, batch) | Fee divided by average | Main exams |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XIMB | 25.8 (2026-28) | 18.25 (2025) | 1.41 | XAT, CAT, GMAT, XGMT |
| IMI Bhubaneswar | 14.98 (2027) | 14.01 (2024-26) | 1.07 | CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT |
| KIIT | 12.9 (2026-28) | 9.5 (2025-26) | 1.36 | KIITEE, CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT |
The ratio divides the fee by the average package, so 1.0 equals one year of the average. It ignores tax, hostel, interest and salary forgone. KIIT's ratio rises to about 1.9 if you use its all-in Rs 18.0 lakh, and IMI's would rise too once hostel and mess are added. Run your own case through the MBA Predictor and the ROI calculator.
How do exams and timelines differ?
| College | Application deadline | Test dates and next steps |
|---|---|---|
| XIMB | 15 Dec 2026 | CAT 29 Nov 2026, XAT 3 Jan 2027, XGMT 17 Jan 2027 |
| IMI Bhubaneswar | 19 Dec 2026 (round 2) | Interviews in January 2027, decision in February 2027 |
| KIIT | 4 Jan 2027 for KIITEE; 20 Jan 2027 for other tests | KIITEE from 9 Jan 2027, result 20 Jan 2027, GD and PI in the first week of February 2027 |
CAT 2026 results are expected in the first week of January 2027, and XAT registration closes on 6 Dec 2026. Read more about the XAT exam if XIMB is your main target.
How should you read each college's placement report?
- Check the batch or season. KIIT's figure carries a placement-season label, and XIMB's figure in our table is for 2025, so neither is a like-for-like batch with IMI's 2024-26.
- Look at the sector split. IMI's 36% in sales and marketing tells you more than its average does.
- Prefer the median where one is given. XIMB's median of Rs 17.82 lakh sits close to its average, which suggests little distortion from outliers.
- Treat the highest package as a ceiling, not a target. KIIT's highest was Rs 35 lakh against an average of Rs 9.5 lakh.
- Read the report on the college's own site before you rely on any summary, including ours.
How should you choose by percentile and budget?
- If you have a strong XAT or CAT result and can fund about Rs 26 lakh plus hostel, XIMB is the premium choice.
- If your estimate is near 70 and you want a CAT, XAT or CMAT route with a mid-range fee, shortlist IMI Bhubaneswar.
- If your estimate is near 80 or you prefer a single fee covering hostel, books and a laptop, look at KIIT, and check the 50% tuition waiver if your score qualifies.
Estimates are not cutoffs. Use the predictor, and confirm each deadline on the official page, because dates change between cycles.
